As you can see these are our ancilary texts which we used, we had some difficulties again with the digi pack and poster for the fact our images got deleted for what we taken before christmas on one of the cameras so that when we came back after we had to take new pictures and to get the synergy that we was looking for it gave us a little bit more time as well to look for better and hard thought pictures and also the continuity edit so we wasnt having picutres in some weather and not in the other, also aswell from the planning point of view of the the drawn digi pack that we had done (album cover) is different to the one we done in the end simply becuase we thought of better synergy to the actual video. Another problem we discoverd was that we couldnt use our text on coral so we had to use it on microsoft word and transfer over but becuase the computer was using was very slow it froze a lot so the time it took to try and actually complete was longer than expected, and for the poster we did it on publisher becuase coral again was causing us problems.

Final Production Piece

When finishing off our post production work we cam across some struggles but we managed to get over them and work around them but taking us a lot of our filming and editing time to get correct one of these was when editing our shot with the rule of 3rds but we used 4 with the pictures along the screen after the green screened images getting put on top of the picture so to start off it looked like this.

The first image was tight to the edge so that by the forth we could of fit them all in. Then for the next shot we had t open up a new project because we couldn't green screen twice over the same project so and just added after at the end of editing and cropping it down to size with it looking like this.

As you can see on this image there is a slight over lap of the arms but this was the only way we could fit the shots in to the screen but we thought that not only was it not noticeable it didn't change the effect of what we was trying to do and achieve. We then repeated this process until we had the final one with 4 of the protagonist in the shot which ended up looking like this.

This was the final shot we managed to get all of the images on to the best that we could and still managed to see the lip syncing done and could tell when each lyric was being spoken and as you can see with the lighting and effects we used to try and make the image not looks as translucent worked well in the end as its not really noticeable.

green screen

When we started to do our green screen we didn't really plan out properly what and how we was going to being able to fit the rule of 3rds (but we used 4) into the screen 4 times because on the editing on the mac's we couldn't use the same shot playing over because we needed the lyrics 4 times from 4 different shots, so when we first did our green screen we realised this and had to do it again, but with this time as well we noticed that because it was being green screened onto a dull back ground the images of the protagonist being used had to be a image of him that stood out not a t-shirt that would blend into the back ground. We did this but on doing so the clothing worn by the protagonist was a white t-shirt and because of the lighting on the green screen in made the protagonist looked almost see through when we came to green screening it on the mac's. so what but we didn't have time to change the clothing and film again, so between contrast on lighting and the back ground on the other shot we are green screening over we managed to sort the the effect out, also by using the cropping tool on the mac, enabled us to crop the picture just to the person with no back ground because on the green screen there was creases which meant that that you could tell on the shot so we managed to crop them out. by using this tool it was easy as well to fit 4 of the images of the protagonist on the screen so you couldn't tell from the layered affect. When we was doing the green screening we came across a few problems like the fact the green screen was wide enough so that when we was putting 4 imaginations of the protagonist along the screen it was cutting it fine either side because the camera as well was a bigger picture when we put it on the mac from when it was actually filming, so we had to mark out along the floor where he could stand in the shot four times with out over lapping. also another thing that we was faced with was the lighting causing to much shadow on the green screen so that when i moved you could see a Shadow which would cause bad continuity editing, so we had to try and position the lights so one would counter out another in terms of reflecting onto the green screen we tried over head lighting and from different angles as well as head height and lower angled lighting to try and see which would cause no shadow or the least shadow and we found that using one over head light and 3 head height lights worked from this diagram you can see where they were positioned and the over head was side lighting b number 1, this was the most effect shooting we did as it meant that we could put the images on with out a shadow at all really.

protagonist roles

whilst being the main character amongst the film i had to do a lot of revising the lyrics for several reasons from how i last years preliminary task, i knew the lyrics but not to the tempo of the sound very well, so for our production this time i tried to revise the lyrics a bit better. also because of not taking drama or being an 'actor' i had to try and hide laughs etc, and try and be serious also with the girl protagonist trying to lead so she could follow by example and make sure it didn't look stupid and badly acted with laughing etc.

Lighting experiment

This was one of the main idea's for our digi pack out of 3 ideas, and we thought that this was the one that would fit best synergy wise becuase it just seems to fit better.

Continuity Editing

We did filming in the bad weather becuase we thought it would add to the affect of filming when its talking about bad weather etc, but we got caught behind a bit of filming so when we went finished most of the outside filming the snow had all cleared up, this meant that if we used the clips of the snow and then with the other clips it wouldnt look right so one of the verses we had to go back and film to make sure it all fits in.
